New OSB timber deck laid on a flat roof ready for its new covering

Flat Roofing you can rely on

Flat roofs fail in predictable ways: splits and blisters in old felt, water ponding in low spots, rotten decking underneath and poorly detailed edges where the roof meets the wall. Patching over the top rarely lasts, so we find out what is really going on first.

We'll recommend the right system for your roof and budget, such as modern torch-on felt, EPDM rubber or GRP fibreglass, and explain the pros and cons of each in plain English.

Repair or replace your flat roof?

A small, recent leak on a roof that is otherwise sound can often be repaired. If the covering is cracked all over, the deck is soft, or the roof has been patched repeatedly, a full replacement is usually better value. We'll show you photos and explain why.

FAQs

Flat Roofing: your questions answered

Can't find your answer? Call or WhatsApp us and we'll be happy to help.

How long does a flat roof last?

It depends on the system, how well it was installed and how it has been maintained. Older felt roofs often need attention sooner than modern systems. We'll give you an honest view of how much life your current roof has left.

Which flat roof system is best?

There's no single best option. Felt, EPDM rubber and GRP each have advantages depending on the size of the roof, foot traffic, detailing and budget. We'll recommend what suits your roof.

Can you replace a garage roof?

Yes. We re-felt and replace garage roofs and can carry out extra work where needed. For example, we've completed garage roof work so that a car lift could be fitted.

Why is water pooling on my flat roof?

Ponding is usually caused by a sagging deck, poor falls or blocked outlets, and it speeds up wear on the covering. We can correct the falls when the roof is replaced.

Can you add insulation to my flat roof?

Often, yes. A warm-roof build-up adds insulation above the deck when the roof is replaced. Building Regulations may apply, and we'll advise on what's required.
